Unique Application for all situations

Application devices

Our Vivostat® System offers a variety of different disposable application devices as well as a number of reusable handles.

Each application device has been developed using the knowledge of specialised surgeons to improve product performance, therefore they were designed to deliver the product to the treatment area in a precise and targeted manner with minimum waste and without blockage.

With the unique technology of the Vivostat® application devices the Vivostat® solution is enabled to polymerize immediately upon application. When the Vivostat® solution polymerizes it turns into a white “gel” that is visible to the eye, which helps the surgeon to see to which area the solution has been applied.

Our application devices

Using the specially designed Vivostat® Endoscopic application device, Vivostat® products can be used in various types of minimal invasive surgery.

A single-use endoscopic application catheter is easily loaded into the endoscopic applicator handle (reusable) and the handle is inserted via a 5 mm trocar.

When using the Vivostat® Endoscopic applicator, the Vivostat® solution is applied through the same unique nozzle that is also used with the Vivostat® Spraypen. Allowing the surgeon to apply the Vivostat® solution in a precise and targeted manner throughout the entire procedure without experiencing blockage. Due to the preformed nozzle, the spray tip can easily be manipulated in many directions giving the surgeon unparalleled freedom in control of application, unobtainable with conventional application systems.

Our Foot Switch is needed together with the Vivostat® Endoscopic applicator to activate the application of the sealant/matrix.

The Vivostat® Endoscopic Kit – Co-Delivery looks and performs similar to the Vivostat® Endoscopic Kit and require the Vivostat® Endoscopic Applicator Handle.

However, there is an additional channel in the catheter that allows the surgeon to co-deliver a substance together with the Vivostat® product sealant or matrix.

With the Vivostat® Endoscopic Kit – Co-Delivery the surgeon is able to topically co-apply the substance, for slow release from the Vivostat® product solutions. Doing this endoscopically means less stress on the patient.

For deep wounds and fistulas we have developed the Vivostat® Endoscopic – Straight for the application of Vivostat® products.

In combination with specially designed spray modes for the Applicator Units, the flexible catheter completely fills wounds and fistulas with the Vivostat® sealant/matrix without leaving any cavities.

When using The Vivostat® Endoscopic – Straight the sealant or matrix solution is applied through the same unique nozzle that is also used with the Vivostat® Spraypen. Enabling the surgeon to apply the Vivostat® solution in a precise and targeted manner throughout the entire procedure without experiencing blockage.

When using the Vivostat® Endoscopic – Straight the application of the product is activated by a Foot Switch.

The outstanding design of both the Applicator Unit and the Vivostat® Spraypen provides the surgeon with up to 4 minutes of constant spraying from only 5 ml of Vivostat® product sealant or matrix.

Unlike conventional application systems, the Vivostat® Spraypen gives the surgeon freedom to place the solution very accurately on the target site instead of the surrounding tissue. This is especially important in pin point applications, micro anastomosis and difficult to reach areas.

The great degree of accuracy enables the surgeon to make better use of the product solution and improves efficiency.

The Vivostat® Spraypen – Co-Delivery is similar to the The Vivostat® Spraypen, however, with the co-delivery option, there is no pen button. The channel used for the pen button is used for the co-applied substance. For the same reason, co-application need to be performed with our Foot Switch. The Vivostat® Spraypen – Co-Delivery still give the surgeon freedom to place the solution very accurately on the target site instead of the surrounding tissue. This is especially important in pin point applications, micro anastomosis and difficult to reach areas. The great degree of accuracy enables the surgeon to make better use of the product solution and improves efficiency.

Together with leading surgeons, the Vivostat® Spraypen – Concorde has been developed as a special application device for surgical procedures where the Vivostat® solution is needed in difficult to reach areas.

Today the Vivostat® Spraypen – Concorde is used in a wide range of surgical procedures. With the carefully optimized angle on the spraytip, surgeons find the Vivostat® Spraypen – Concorde very convenient for the application of e.g. sealant or matrix on anastomosis on the backside of the heart, sealing of the mammary bed and some types of abdominal surgery in difficult to reach organs.

The Vivostat® Spraypen – Concorde utilizes the same unique spray nozzle as the original Vivostat® Spraypen, allowing the surgeon to apply the Vivostat® solution in a precise and targeted manner throughout the entire procedure without experiencing blockage.

Benefits Vivostat® Application devices

The range of application devices in the Vivostat® System is designed to enable constant or intermittent use in many different surgical procedures without the blockage that is a common problem with all other devices used for surgical sealants. With the Vivostat® application devices you can stop-and-go, without any issues.

Our unique design of the Vivostat® application devices enables the surgeon to accurately place the solution where it is needed and thereby increases the efficiency of use. The Vivostat® System gives you accuracy unobtainable from conventional application systems.

All designers of spray systems face a challenge as they want to minimise the disruption or damage to tissue caused by high flow rate of the propellant. The Vivostat® System solves this problem with the special design of the application devices and the Applicator Unit. This provides efficient mixing and imparts very low forces on the applied tissue.

Our applicator handles

Our reusable handle can be used in various types of minimally invasive surgery. The single-use endoscopic application catheter is easily loaded into the endoscopic handle, which is inserted via a 5 mm trocar. The pre-bent spray tip enables the surgeon to manipulate the tip and spray in multiple directions.

The long reusable handle can be used in various types of minimally invasive surgeries. The endoscopic handle, can easily be loaded (via a 5 mm trocar), with the single-use endoscopic application catheter. With the pre-bent spray tip the surgeon can manipulate the tip and spray in multiple directions.

An angled reusable handle can be used in various types of orthopaedic surgeries. The single-use endoscopic application catheter is easily loaded into the endoscopic handle, which is inserted via a 5 mm trocar. The pre-bent spray tip enables the surgeon to manipulate the tip and spray in multiple directions.
